Cloud Talk
Justin (our Penguin Handler) and Mike (COO) are in San Jose this week for the annual Velocity Conference on web performance and operations. Keynote speakers this year include Jonathan Heiliger of Facebook, Marissa Mayer of Google, John Adams of Twitter, and Justin Huff of Picnik! That’s right, Justin gave a keynote today on “2 Years Later: Loving and Hating the Cloud,” and Mike went along to cheer for him.
Most of our users might hear about “the Cloud” and wonder, “Why would Justin hate the Picnik clouds?” but actually the Cloud is where most of Picnik is stored! It refers to all our offsite data storage, processing, flexibility, and not making Justin install all that hardware himself. That way, it’s where we don’t have to look at it, as if it were hidden behind big white fluffy clouds. So Justin was down there to talk about love, hate, and laziness.
They’ll be there for the rest of the conference, so if you run into them, say hi!

Off Topic! Sorry! Are you all working on a Picnik app for iPhone? I keep searching for it! I bet it would sell tons if not overly priced.

I love this site and also love that you have more beauty aides!! Really cool ones too!
I only wish for more actions. I find myself only using ortonish, vignettes and lomoish 98% of the time. Just wish they were a few more to make my brides look awesome! I would like to be able to make clouds and technicolor, and star filters on lights would be really cool too :) Creamyness, glowy, etc. I may not know how to use some of these.. is there a training video?

OMG! SERIOUSLY IF YHU MAKE A PICNIK APP FOR iPhone/iPod IT WUD BE AWESOME! AT FIRST IT SHOULD BE FREE BUT IF THERES A LOT OF DOWNLOADS THEN PPL WOULD HAVE TO PAY A BIT TO DOWNLOAD IT.

I completely agree wt Shannon. I use this website to edit all my pictures. And u always get complements in them for how cute they are. But I think it would be an excellent idea if you made a picnik app for the iPod/iPhone

I AGREE WITH ALL THE OTHERS WHO HAVE SAID THIS, MAKE AN IPHONE APP, CHARGE A BIT, 59p – £1.19 OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT TIMES ABOUT A BILLION PEOPLE WHO WOULD LOVE IT AND USE IT ALL THE TIME AND THERE YOU GO LOTS OF MONEY!!

if there’s a picnik app for iPod touch or iPhones, I would be totally happy. editing pictures have become a huge part of my life and picnik is a great program for people. I believe they should make an app for picnik on iPod touches and iPhones especially. the more people are getting into it the more mobile they are going to become. picnik, please make an app for us!! we would greatly appreciate it!!!

Honestly, it would be a great idea if you guys made an App of Picnik for the iPhone and iPod touch. I would go for the U.S. price of $2.99 – $4.99 of the App if it were selling on the iTunes Store App. You guys would make a lot of money and I’m really willing to pay for that price if it came out on the iPhone and iPod touch cause I am paying Picnik, I’ve been a premium for almost a year. I simply love it!

Okay seriously! iPhone/iPod/iPad app now! You could charge just about anything. You could even make the app free then people could sign up for the premium at the same rates that are charged on the computer! It would be so perfect!!! You guys would totally be #1 on the photography charts forever!!

I love picnik so much! I am always on this websit. like 24/7. if they made an app for this then I would love it at a rate if 300% (I love it 250% right now) this websit is amazing. however I don’t think that paying should be needed. this is a great website. my favorite effect is 60′s or ortionish. great stuff. awesome websit. keep up the good work picnik.
