Check the "reverse effect" box, and then choose color and make the brush size cirlce match the iris size. Zoom to make it easier. You could do the same thing with hair, but you'd have to zoom a lot and use a small brush some places on hair, and it would be a tedious effort! I've been searching for an easier way, too!
