Picnik Fun #1: Change Eye Color

We receive many requests asking how to produce this or that effect with Picnik. Today a guest user asked how to change a subject’s eye color. They didn’t leave an email address so I’ll post the reply here and maybe they’ll read it. In any case I’m sure this technique is new to many of you.

The key to changing eye color, hair color, or the color of any part of a photo is what we call “Effect Painting”. Effect Painting lets you paint an effect, be it tint, black & white, soften, pixelate and others, anywhere you want it. Follow these steps:
- Go to the Create tab and under Effects select Tint, in the Color section.
- If it’s not already selected, click the paint brush icon.
- In the window that pops up, click the “Reverse Effect” checkbox.
- Now, paint directly on the photo wherever you want to apply the tint. You might want to increase or decrease the brush size.
- If you accidentally paint too much, click the “Original” button and paint back the original. You can hold the Alt key down as a shortcut to switch between effect and original painting.
- When you’re done painting play around with the Tint Color selector at the left. The effect will change immediately as you try new colors. Sooo much fun!
- The Advanced Modes and Fade slider can be used to mix the tint back into the original in interesting ways.
That’s it. Have fun!

Hello All -
If you’re having trouble finding this feature: upload a photo to reveal the Create tab which will appear at the top of the page next to the Library and Edit tabs. Click that tab to get a variety of creative choices. For this feature select the Effect subcategory (just under the tabs on the far left) and scroll down the list on the left until you see Tint!
I hope this helps you with your masterpieces. Enjoy!

To change hair color you do the same thing cept click on your hair.. read description people

to change hair colour you use sepia instead of tint…and if the hair needs lightened you colourthe hair black and white then put the sepia shage on top then repeat until it lightenes. i dont know a quicker method. can take a while :/ x

hello peoples weell i am eleven years old and this is my first time using picnik and i found it with no problem. alls you do is go to effects and scroll down a little till u get to tint, and to do your hair u just do the same thing mine looks very cooli did it bright blue it came out awesome!!

If you have premium, you can go under the create tab and click on touch up. Next go to eye color and paint in your wanted eye color then click on the eraser and erase the middle so it could look like a pupil.
